TREKS
Bhutan offers a variety of trekking programs. Trekking is one of the best ways
to enjoy the splendor of Bhutan’s natural beauty. You will be trekking on the
pristine subtropical and temperate forest to alpine pastures with grand views
of Himalayan peaks. The treks also give you the opportunity to see the countryside
and meet ordinary Bhutanese people as you walk through village and settlements.
All trekkers are accompanied by well-experienced guides, cook and porters/ horsemen.
We provide horses or yaks, depending on the altitude that you are trekking,
carry provisions and luggage. Treks vary from very short three-day trek across
low altitude to three four weeks snowman trek covering distance of 356 kilometers.
The northern treks climb as high as 5,500 meters and should only be attempted
by people who are physically fit.

less by the duration of the trek, however, the actual number of days spent trekking
will be slightly less. The average trek takes about 5 to 7 hours walk every
day.
1. Bhutan tour including 4-day Druk Path trek
Druk Path Trek, one of the most scenic and popular treks in Bhutan, is a relatively
a short trek, it takes you to an elevation of 4210m above sea level, making
it moderately strenuous. You can see many remote lakes, beautiful views of high
mountains and variety of rhododendron. The actual trekking days are five days.
It is possible to shorten this trek but you must be in good shape to walk for
more then eight hours a day. It is done either from Paro to Thimphu or Thimphu
to Paro. The ideal time would be in spring when you can see many varieties of
flowers.
Day 1: Arrive by Druk Air - Paro
Day 2: Paro - Sight-seeing
Day 3: Paro - Jele Dzong
Day 4: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha
Day 5: Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso

The Bumthang Trek
This trek is one of the most simple and easiest treks of all. It takes you around
the villages of Bhutan, giving you the opportunity to see and experience rural
life from close. This route walks you through beautiful valleys and meadows.
Bhumtahns being the most sacred places in Bhutan shows you a lot of Lhakhangs
to visit too.
Day 01: Arrive Bhutan.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Thimphu.
Day 03: Drive Thimphu to Trongsa
Day 04: Drive Trongsa to Bumthang.
Day 05: Full day sightseeing of Bumthang valley.
Day 06: Start trek to Nanglakhang. Camp.
Day 07: Continue trek to Medow Camp. Camp.
Day 08: Meadow Camp to Ugyen Choling. Drive to Jakar.
Day 09: Drive Bumthang to Pukakha.
Day 10: Drive to Thimphu and Paro.
Day 11: Paro sightseeing and hike to Taksang
Day 12: Depart Bhutan

Gasa Trek
This trek leads you the hot spring at Gasa, which Bhutanese believe has medicinal
value and in some cases cure people of their illness. In this package you will
not only trek to the hot spring but will also have the opportunity of visiting
Thimphu and the Paro valleys. On this trek, you will be walking through forests
were one see a variety of vegetation, including the Orchid and sometimes the
national animal, Takin, too.

Jumolhari Trek
This Trek is a superb and challenging trek. This trek starts from Paro Drugyel
Dzong and enters Dodeyna in Thimphu. As you go north, you will enter the land
of the Bjobs, yak herders. You will halt one day in Lingshi to explore valley
and the Dzong built in the 17th century which once guarded the frontier with
Tibet. This trek offers you an excellent view of the natural landscape including
lakes, mountains, valleys, yaks, blue sheep and blue poppy. This trek is also
rich in sighting rare high altitude birds such as the Spotted Eagle, Himalayan
Griffon and Himalayan Monal. In addition it is also possible to see marmots,
blue sheep and Takins. This trek can be done from April to November but the
best months are April, May, October and November.
Day 01: Arrive Paro.
Day 02: Paro sightseeing and hike to Taksang. Hotel.
Day 03: Start Chomolhari Trek. Camp.
Day 04-11: Chomolhari trek. Camps.
Day 12: End trek in Thimphu. Hotel.
Day 13: Full day sightseeing of Thimphu. Hotel.
Day 14: Day trip to Punakha and Wongdue. Hotel.
Day 15: Depart Bhutan
Like all cultural treks, the whole expenses for all trek (meal, accommodation,
guide, ponies,) are all included in the daily tariff of US$200 you will be paying.
The tourists will be accompanied by a trained guide, a cook, an assistant and
pack animal. At least one riding pony is always taken along just incase it is
need. The support crew walks ahead of the trekking party each day and pitches
camp before the trekkers arrive. A warm cup of tea or coffee waiting in the
dinning tent is a most welcome treat after a days trek. All meals are carefully
planned and prepared. Breakfast and dinner are served fresh, prepared at camp
and you will still have a variety. |
